Across America, Deadly Echoes of Foreign Battles

A battle-weary grenadier who was still legally under-age, he paid a stranger to buy him two tall cans of beer, his self-prescribed treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.

As Mr. Sepi started home, two gang members, both large and both armed, stepped out of the darkness. Mr. Sepi said in an interview that he spied the butt of a gun, heard a boom, saw a flash and "just snapped."

In the end, one gang member lay dead, bleeding onto the pavement. The other was wounded. And Mr. Sepi fled, "breaking contact" with the enemy, as he later described it. With his rifle raised, he crept home, loaded 180 rounds of ammunition into his car and drove until police lights flashed behind him.

"Who did I take fire from?" he asked urgently. Wearing his Army camouflage pants, the diminutive young man said he had been ambushed and then instinctively "engaged the targets." He shook.

New Dawn

She always had been exposed to the positive side of human nature. Slowly Inder began to remove his covering and started being his original self, which was not so good. He started getting irritated at her for small little things and often used filthy language. He stopped taking her out. All of a sudden Lakshmi found herself all alone, in a new country, with no friends to even talk to. Her husband stopped listening to her long back. He began his drinking habit again and now his stories were more different. He talked a lot about a friend of his, who killed his wife and kept the body in a refrigirator and disposed a part each day. He sometime comes up with more innovative ideas of killing. When Lakshmi tries to avoid topic or stops listening, he tied her hands and legs, stuffed her mouth and made her sit there until he is done with his ideas for the day.

Chasing Amy

The boom in digital cameras and celebrity magazines has created a paparazzi plague. Decca Aitkenhead joins the pack in London.

''Leave her alone, you dirty scum! Why don't you just leave her alone?" As two paparazzi scramble on to the pavement to catch Amy Winehouse emerging from a Mercedes van, a pair of young women bustle out of a cafe. "She's just trying to lead her life!" they scold, before pursuing the singer into the newsagency. "You doing all right then, love?" the pair cluck. One throws an arm around Winehouse, drawing her tight, while the other steadies her mobile phone camera for the shot. "Now then, Amy," the woman exhorts, "smile!"

Winehouse surrenders an unseeing gaze to the lens, then turns to study the newsstand. At the counter she realises the shopkeeper is filming her on his mobile.

Thanks to their contribution many people can blog on this web site with freedom and a political agenda. I'm not so far left or right as not appreciate the dedication and to offer my appreciation to the Canadian Armed Forces. To the families that visited Afganistan you have my deepest sympathy for your for losing a love one. May their memory give you the strength to carry on and their honor and pride also be yours. An entire year of missteps in the life of Britney Spears

She is taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for 72 hours of observation, and according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman, appears to be under the influence of some substance and seems to not have eaten or slept in days. Reports say, however, that Spears tests clean for drugs and alcohol. But Friday afternoon, a judge gave full custody of the boys to their father and completely suspended Spears' visitation rights.

DEC. 4, 2007: Child welfare investigators investigate ''multiple child abuse and neglect'' allegations in the custody battle between Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline.

OCT. 30, 2007: A Los Angeles court commissioner grants Spears three weekly monitored visits with Sean Preston and Jayden James.

OCT. 25, 2007: Spears avoids a criminal hit-and-run trial by paying for damages in a fender-bender.
